What is a VRF system?
Variable refrigerant flow (VRF). This is an HVAC technology invented in Japan and like the DX system, it also uses refrigerant as its cooling and heating medium.
VRF systems are very sophisticated air conditioning systems that work on some unique principles. They only use refrigerant as their coolant material. Inverter compressors allow for lowering power consumption with partial cooling/heating loads. The system has several air handlers (indoor units) on the same refrigerant loop/circuit and has the ability to provide modular expansion (for larger projects).
