Who we are

Parsons and Lumsden is a well‐established mechanical design, engineering and management consultancy and we pride ourselves in our attention to detail, high standard of work ethic and our promise to deliver within a good turnaround time. We have been consulting in the built environment for many years, with joint experience of over 150 years and counting in various mechanical installations. We are experienced in leisure, retail, healthcare, education, industrial and commercial developments. We also offer integrated energy management solutions.

What we do

Parsons and Lumsden are primarily a mechanical services consultancy with expertise in HVAC, medical gases, plumbing, fire protection and associated mechanical installations in the built environment. Our particular niche is the integration of services across disciplines of electrical, electronic and mechanical services to provide the most energy‐efficient and cost‐effective solution for our clients.

Industrial and warehousing services

The control of indoor conditions within the production environment is more complex than the commercial and residential fields.

The legal requirements for human comfort and air quality within a production environment are not well defined and SANS 10400 Building Standards explicitly exclude the industrial sector in terms of ventilation requirements.

It is for these reasons that the services of professional engineers who understand both your processes and their effect on indoor air quality are essential to ensure that your ventilation, air conditioning and extraction requirements are correctly designed and installed.
